I have served on local school boards for 14 years.
From 2010 to 2018, I was a trustee of the Las Lomitas Elementary School District.
Since 2020, I have served as a trustee of the Sequoia Union High School District, representing Area C. I am currently the Vice President of the Board, in my sixth year of service. Voters reelected me, unopposed, in 2024.
Your voice on the board
Apart from two specific issues, the board has been in alignment on the direction of the district. On those two issues, honors courses and the Ethnic Studies graduation requirement, I have voted in the 3 to 2 minority on behalf of the priorities of voters in Area C. On both, Trustee Sathvik Nori has voted with me.
Honors courses
I have consistently supported honors course offerings. On April 22, 2026, I made a motion to restore honors courses across the district’s four large high schools so that students at Menlo-Atherton, Sequoia, and Woodside would have the same opportunities as students at Carlmont. Trustee Sathvik Nori seconded the motion. The motion was defeated 3 to 2.

By a 3 to 2 vote, the board made Ethnic Studies a local high school graduation requirement at the Sequoia Union High School District. It is not a state requirement.
I voted no. I support offering Ethnic Studies as an elective. I do not believe it should be a graduation requirement. Trustee Sathvik Nori voted with me on this issue.

In 2025, I served on the Board Subcommittee, with Trustee Marybeth Thompson, that examined district property and enrollment trends and recommended the public process that led to the closure of TIDE Academy. The full board voted unanimously, 5 to 0, to close TIDE in February 2026.

In November 2022, voters approved Measure W, a bond authorization to fund site upgrades at the district’s schools. The current board has overseen the implementation, and construction is now underway at the district’s schools. The improvements being made at each site will serve students for decades to come.
