This page lists my positions on specific issues that have come before the Sequoia Union High School District Board. Each entry links to a full page with the vote, my reasoning, and the relevant record. New entries are added after I have stated my position on the issue publicly at a board meeting.
- Honors Courses I support a consistent set of advanced standing (honors) course offerings across the district’s four large high schools. On April 22, 2026, I made a motion to restore offerings that have been removed. The motion was defeated 3 to 2.
- Ethnic Studies I support ethnic studies as an elective. I do not support it as a local graduation requirement. The board adopted the requirement 3 to 2. I voted no.
- TIDE Academy On February 4, 2026, the board voted 5 to 0 to close TIDE Academy at the end of the 2025 to 2026 school year. The full story of how the decision was made, what Measure A funded, and why I voted yes.
